Establishing this scholarship was a way for Johnny and Allison to honor their special Uncle Bo.

Bo Partin was a very generous, loving, and caring man. Bo Partin began his life of public and community service in his teenage years picking up trash along the streets in Hopewell and in front of Partin Oil Company on Route 10. Upon graduation from Hopewell High School, Bo attended the University of Kentucky and enrolled in the Army ROTC Program. Upon his college graduation, Bo commissioned into the United States Army as Second Lieutenant branching with the Military Police. After 3 years of active duty, Bo transferred into the Virginia National Guard with the Corps of Engineers. Bo Partin retired from the Virginia National Guard after 20 years of service, attaining the rank of Major.
